The Power of Positive Messaging:

How a Simple Realisation Sparked a Movement for Children

Some ideas do not begin as business plans. They begin as quiet observations in the course of everyday Life. For me, that moment came through my daughter.

As a lawyer and entrepreneur, I had always been drawn to the structure of ideas. But motherhood brought a new kind of clarity. After the birth of my daughter, I noticed something simple yet powerful. She would read aloud the phrases printed on her clothing and remember them days later. The words stayed with her. They influenced her mood, her imagination, and even the way she spoke to herself. I realised that what children see daily, especially in their earliest years, forms the foundation of how they think and who they become. This realisation became the seed of Benditaa, a homegrown Indian clothing brand built to offer more than fashion. We wanted to create something that carried the kind of words we would want children to hear, read, and absorb. Messages that affirmed their confidence, fuelled their imagination, and reminded them that they are enough, exactly as they are.

Benditaa was incorporated in 2021 while I was expecting my second child, and it launched in 2022 when my baby was six months old. I often hear people say that motherhood slows things down. My experience has been the opposite. It made me more focused, more resilient, and more connected to what truly matters. I built Benditaa during one of the most demanding phases of my personal Life, and it became a source of energy rather than a burden. Motherhood gave me not just the reason to create, but also the courage to build with purpose.

The name Benditaa means pure, sacred, and blessed. It reflects the values we want our brand to represent. At its core, Benditaa is about giving children better messages to grow up with. In a time when external influences are stronger than ever, children deserve affirmations that encourage them to be confident, kind, and hopeful.

Our products are designed to speak directly to children through the clothes they wear every day. Phrases like “Be Your Own Hero,” “Fearless,”“Ride the Wave,” “You Got This,” “It All Starts With A Dream,” and “It’s Cool to be Kind” are chosen with care. These are not just feel- good slogans. They are messages that help shape a child’s internal voice. Overtime, repetition of such affirmations becomes a part of their thinking. When children internalise belief, it quietly becomes part of their strength.

What a child wears may seem like a small detail. But we believe these details matter. Every visual cue a child encounters becomes part of their learning. We often underestimate the influence of something as simple as a printed word. When chosen with intention, it becomes a tool for self- worth and identity formation.

As a mother of both a daughter and a son, I am deeply aware of the messaging children receive based on gender. Girls are often taught to be agreeable, delicate, and dependent. Boys are expected to be tough, emotionless, and always in control. These early scripts shape how children behave, what they aspire to, and what they believe they are allowed to feel.

With Benditaa, we are working to change those scripts. For girls, our collections focus on leadership, independence, and purpose. Prints like “Smart Girl Squad” and “Achieve Anything” are created to help girls see themselves as strong, capable, and complete. We want them to grow up believing that ambition is not only accepted but encouraged. For boys, we are broadening the idea of strength. Designs like “It’s Cool to be Kind” offer an alternative to rigid definitions of masculinity. Emotional intelligence, empathy, and kindness are values we want to normalise for everyone, regardless of gender. We are offering boys a new kind of language that makes room for compassion and expression without judgment.

Beyond gender, we also highlight values like teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendship. Messages such as “What Is Life Without Goals” and “Real Queens Fix Each Other’s Crowns” are created to promote connection and mutual respect. These values are not just for childhood. They shape the way children grow into adults and participate in communities.
We are building a brand that speaks not only to children but also to the adults raising them. Our aim is to create apparel that supports emotional development, encourages positive identity, and offers parents a tool for teaching values through everyday choices.

This journey is personal. It began in my home, with my child. But it has grown into something that touches many families. We have received letters and messages from parents telling us that their children read their shirts a loud with pride. That they remember these words. That they ask questions about their meaning. In those moments, we know this idea is working.
For me, Benditaa is not just a business. It is a way to contribute something meaningful to the next generation. It is a reminder that businesses can emerge from purpose, and that purpose can be sustained through thoughtfulness and care. I believe in building with intention, and in creating with empathy. Benditaa is a result of that belief.

As we move forward, my vision is to see Benditaa become a name that families associate with confidence, trust, and meaning. I want our products to carry more than colour and fabric. I want them to carry clarity, pride, and warmth. Clothing may be temporary, but the words printed on them, when chosen wisely, leave a memory that stays far longer.

There is something quietly powerful about simplicity. A few words, when repeated often, can shape the way a child sees themselves. I have seen it in my own home. I have seen it in the children who wear our designs. I believe that every child deserves to grow up surrounded by messages that remind them of their value and expand their belief in what is possible.
This is the essence of Benditaa. It is not just about clothing. It is about creating an environment in which children are surrounded by kindness, strength, and belief. It is about shaping a generation that grows up with better language, better values, and a better sense of who they are.
